In celebration of International Day of the Girl, World Education’s ConnectEd program launched an online social campaign to encourage people globally to take a simple picture sharing why a day for girls is important. Almost 250 people from 11 countries engaged with World Education and shared their photos, which can be found below and online at www.facebook.com/alfconnected
International Day of the Girl is a day to celebrate girls and talk about girls’ issues, like access to education and technology. In India, the ConnectEd program teaches girls that they can use technology, too!
Our ConnectEd project collected almost 200 photos from across 9 countries of personal reasons why today is so important.
There are 33 million fewer girls than boys in primary school.
Only 4 more days until International Day of the Girl! Visit ConnectEd to join the campaign.
